There was only one setback in the form of rumor and that was “dry clean” which kept people like me from buying it. But the good news is that it is solved now as everyone has come to know that it can be cleaned by hand as well at home. Since then, people including me, are not stopping to stock up on their new arrivals including hoodies, sweaters, and joggers. Washing Cashmere: When to Do It
You try to achieve the highest level of anything and that is your strength we admire. However, do not make it your weakness when it comes to Cashmere. We are trying to make a point that cashmere doesn't need to be washed each time it's worn. Then what are you required to do? It’s more useful than weird. This might have got you wondering how Cashmere is designed. It is made from the delicate locks of Inner Mongolia's goats. This may seem odd, but it is very common. Its usefulness lies in the fact that when you do not want to go to the dry cleaners to get your cashmere cleaned, this is what you can do:
- You are required to fill a big sink or bowl with cold water and put your cashmere garment inside. You wanna avoid Pilling and Shrinkage? if not, fill the basin with hot water instead. Jokes apart, NEVER do that!
- Pour one to two capfuls of The Laundress Wool & Cashmere Shampoo into the bowl or sink. Following giving the clothes a quick shake to spread the shampoo, let them soak for ten minutes. Alert! You must not soak Cashmere and other delicate fabrics for more than 30 minutes.
- Let this water runoff from the basin and refill it with fresh cold water. Give your cashmere fabric a quick spin, rinse it, and drain it again.
- Cashmere must not be wrung out instead lay it flat on a clean towel place it flat on a clean towel, wrap it up, and gently press it to get rid of extra water. Then unfold the towel and lay it flat to dry the rest on its own. Cashmere is composed of thick yarns and may take a bit longer to dry.
Instances when dry cleaning is recommended
Most cashmere care can be done at home, but there is an exception when big spots or strong smells are found. As soon as you notice a spot on your cashmere, take it to the dry cleaner before it becomes permanent and tell what happened. Don't take the chance if you don't think you can get rid of the spot on your own. If you screw up, unfortunately, the dry cleaner will have more trouble getting rid of it.
Even though it's not a rule giving your cashmere a dry clean at the start and end of sweater season will make them last longer. How to Deal with Pilling
Cashmere doesn't have to be kept from being pilled. Because cashmere fibers are made up of tiny loops that rub with one another, and finally break. Pilling is not something to be afraid of as that's easy to fix and thankfully won't make your clothing useless.
